“Look out!” shouted Lucy as she dodged behind a tree.
A metal object flew past her, buzzing like an angry bee.
Her friends, Sam and Mia, ran up, wide-eyed.
“What is that?” Sam asked, pointing at the object.
“It looks like a drone,” said Mia, narrowing her eyes.
“Why is a drone flying in the park?”
“I don’t know,” replied Lucy, “but it doesn’t seem friendly.”
The three friends gathered together, their curiosity piqued.
They agreed they had to figure out what was going on.
Earlier that day, the friends had planned a simple picnic.
They laid out blankets and began unpacking sandwiches and juice.
As they sat, a strange noise caught Lucy’s attention.
“It sounds like a machine,” she noted, glancing around.
Suddenly, the drone appeared, buzzing toward them.
“No one said anything about machines at the park,” added Sam.
They decided this would not be a normal picnic day.
Each of them grabbed a sandwich, ready for action.

The trio followed the drone cautiously through the park.
“We need a plan if there are more,” Mia proposed.
“What if they’re spying on us?” Sam wondered aloud.
“They could be,” Lucy replied, “but we’re going to stop them.”
“Let’s follow it, see where it goes,” suggested Sam.
As they moved through the park, they noticed more drones.
Sam said, “Why are there so many? There must be a reason.”
The drones hovered over an old, abandoned shed on a hill.

“Look there!” Mia pointed at a small robot entering the shed.
The friends watched as more robots joined inside.
“They’re all meeting up,” Lucy said, feeling worried.
“Maybe they live there,” Sam whispered, although he suspected more.
“They’re planning something,” Mia decided. “And we need to stop them.”
“What if we sneak inside?” suggested Sam. “Check it out?”
“Alright,” agreed Lucy, “but carefully.”
They approached the shed, quietly, their hearts thudding.
Once inside, they found robots working on something big.
“We’ve got to shut this down,” whispered Lucy urgently.

Sam pointed toward a large switch on the wall.
“That might stop them,” he said excitedly.
“Good idea,” said Mia. “Go for it, Sam!”
Sam darted over, pulled the switch, and the shed went dark.
The robots powered down, one by one, their menace fading.
The trio emerged into sunlight, victorious.
“What an adventure!” Lucy exclaimed, feeling relieved.
Mia laughed, “Our picnic was certainly surprising.”
Sam grinned, “Let’s keep an eye out for more drones.”
“I agree,” Lucy smiled. “We’ll always be ready.”
The friends returned to their picnic, enjoying the calm.
The end.
