One sunny day, Hedgehog found some colorful leaves.
“Wow!” Hedgehog said. “These are beautiful.”
Hedgehog picked up the leaves and danced around.
He loved to feel the crisp, cool air.
“Look at my dance, Squirrel!” Hedgehog called.
Squirrel waved from a tall tree branch.
“Nice moves, Hedgehog!” Squirrel chuckled.
Hedgehog smiled and twirled faster.
Hedgehog was busy getting ready for winter.
He wanted a cozy, warm home for the cold days.
“I need lots of soft things,” Hedgehog thought.
His nose wiggled as he sniffed the air.
Hedgehog remembered his friend, Mouse, could help.
Mouse had lots of tricks for staying snug.
He hurried down the trail to find Mouse.

“I want to make my home cozy!” Hedgehog said.
“Soft grass will help,” Mouse replied wisely.
Together, they gathered piles of soft grass.
Soon, Hedgehog had a bundle that felt fluffy.
“Thank you, Mouse,” Hedgehog said happily.
Mouse smiled and nodded, feeling proud.
Hedgehog waved goodbye and scurried to Fox’s house.

Hedgehog found Fox near the burrow.
“What’s the rush, Hedgehog?” asked Fox with a grin.
“I want my home to be perfect!” Hedgehog declared.
“Use twigs to make it extra safe,” advised Fox.
“That’s a great idea!” Hedgehog exclaimed.
Fox and Hedgehog searched for strong twigs.
“These will keep the wind away,” Hedgehog decided.

Hedgehog looked at his cozy new home.
“This is the best home ever,” Hedgehog cheered.
His heart felt warm and happy inside.
He could not wait to tell Squirrel and Mouse.
“Do you like my home?” Hedgehog asked.
“Yes, it’s perfect!” said Squirrel and Mouse together.
All the friends agreed Hedgehog’s home was wonderful.
And so, Hedgehog was ready for winter’s chill.
He snuggled down with a smile, feeling safe and snug.
The end.
