One sunny morning, Mia and Max played in the park.
They heard a strange bark.
“Bark! Bark!”
It was unusual and sounded like talking.
“Did you hear that, Max?” Mia asked, looking around.
Max nodded. “Yes, it sounded like it said something.”
Suddenly, a fluffy dog with brown spots ran over to them.
“Hello, children! My name is Bingo,” said the dog.
Mia gasped. “A talking dog!”
Max’s eyes widened. “This is amazing!”
Bingo wagged his tail and smiled.
“I need your help,” said Bingo.
Mia and Max looked at each other, excited and curious.
“Help with what?” Mia asked.
Bingo looked around, making sure no one else was listening.
“There is a mystery to solve in the city,” Bingo explained.
“A mystery?” Max asked, leaning closer.
“Yes,” Bingo replied, “the mayor’s medal is missing!”

Mia clapped her hands. “We love solving mysteries!”
Max grabbed his backpack. “Let’s go, Bingo!”
Bingo led them through the park toward the city.
As they walked, Bingo told them more.
“The mayor wears a special medal for important events,” he explained.
“But it was stolen last night.”
“Where do we start looking?” Max asked.
“I have a clue,” Bingo said, stopping near a tall tree.
“What’s the clue?” Mia asked eagerly.
They all sat down beneath the tree.
“A feather was found at the scene,” Bingo revealed.
Mia thought for a moment. “Maybe it belongs to a bird?”
“It could be from a thief who has a pet bird,” Max suggested.

They continued their search, following Bingo’s lead.
They asked people in markets, checked near fountains, and even looked in alleys.
Finally, they reached a cozy bakery with a big sign that said “Sam’s Pies.”
“Let’s ask here,” Bingo suggested.
Inside the bakery, they smelled fresh pies.
“Hello!” greeted Sam, the baker. “How can I help you?”
Mia showed Sam the feather. “Have you seen anyone with a pet bird?”
Sam scratched his head. “Hmm, yes! Mr. Thompson always comes with his parrot.”
“Where does he live?” Max asked excitedly.
“Just two blocks away,” Sam said, pointing.
Bingo barked happily. “Thank you, Sam!”
They rushed to Mr. Thompson’s house and knocked on the door.
A tall man with a parrot on his shoulder opened it.
“Can I help you?” Mr. Thompson asked, surprised.
Max held up the feather. “Did your parrot lose this?”
Mr. Thompson looked at the feather and nodded. “Yes, it belongs to Polly.”
“And did you happen to find a medal?” Bingo asked politely.
Mr. Thompson smiled and went inside.
He came back with the shiny mayor’s medal.

“I found this in the park this morning,” he explained.
Bingo barked with joy. “You solved the mystery!”
Mia and Max cheered. “We did it!”
Mr. Thompson gave them the medal. “Please return it to the mayor.”
They hurried back to the mayor’s office.
The mayor was so happy to get his medal back.
“Thank you, Mia, Max, and Bingo!” he said, shaking their hands.
Bingo wagged his tail. “We are always ready to help!”
Mia and Max hugged Bingo. “You’re the best talking dog ever!”
Bingo laughed. “And you are the best detectives ever!”
