Quokka woke up early one sunny morning.
“Today will be fun,” Quokka said.
He jumped out of bed.
Then he heard a strange noise.
“What is that sound?” Quokka wondered.
He followed the noise outside.
Outside, Quokka found his friend, JoJo the kangaroo.
“Hi, JoJo!” Quokka called out.
JoJo was bouncing around excitedly.
“I found a treasure map!” said JoJo.
Quokka’s eyes grew wide with excitement.
“A treasure map? Let’s go find it!”
Quokka and JoJo began to follow the map.
They had to climb over rocks and swim in a stream.
“Do you think we will find the treasure?” asked JoJo.
“I hope so!” said Quokka.
Then they heard another strange noise.
“What now?” asked Quokka.
It was Kiki the kookaburra, laughing loudly.
“Kiki! Why are you laughing?” asked JoJo.
Kiki pointed to a big, shiny rock.
“There’s the treasure!” said Kiki.
Quokka and JoJo ran to the rock.
They lifted it together and found a shiny, red box.
Inside the box was candy and a note.
The note said, “Surprise! Enjoy the candy!”
Quokka, JoJo, and Kiki laughed.
“We did it!” shouted Quokka.
They shared the candy and played all day.
“Sometimes, the best treasure is friendship,” said JoJo.
Quokka nodded and smiled.
