It was a cool, autumn night. The moon was shining brightly in the dark sky.
Lily, Jack, and Mia were sitting on the porch. They were best friends and loved to solve mysteries.
“Lets go into the woods,” suggested Jack. “I feel like something exciting is out there.”
“Are you sure?” Mia asked, sounding a bit scared.
They grabbed their flashlights and walked towards the forest. The leaves crunched under their feet.
Lily, Jack, and Mia had been friends since kindergarten. They lived on the same street and did everything together.
Their favorite thing to do was solve mysteries. Almost every weekend, they would pretend to be detectives.
One summer, they found an old map in Lily’s attic. It led them to a hidden treasure in her backyard!
“Remember when we found that old map?” Jack asked as they walked.
Lily smiled and said, “Tonight might be even more exciting!”

As they walked deeper into the woods, they heard an owl hooting. Then, they saw something strange glowing on the ground.
“What is that?” Jack whispered, pointing his flashlight at the glowing object.
It was a small, shiny stone. The stone had strange markings on it that they had never seen before.
They continued to walk, looking for anything unusual. Suddenly, they heard footsteps behind them.

The footsteps got louder and closer. They turned around and saw a shadowy figure!
The figure stepped into the light. It was Mr. Thompson, the local gardener!
Mr. Thompson sighed. “I’ve been looking for that stone for years. It’s part of a treasure hidden in these woods.”

They decided to help Mr. Thompson find the treasure. He showed them an old map he had.
The map had more clues about where the treasure was hidden. Together, they followed the clues.
After a lot of walking and searching, they found a small cave. Inside the cave was an old chest filled with gold coins and jewels!
Mr. Thompson smiled and said, “Thank you, kids. I couldn’t have done it without you.”
They walked back home with the treasure. That night, under the moonlight, they made a promise.
“We’ll always be friends and solve mysteries together,” Lily said.
