“Look at this map, Ana!” Toby said, spreading out a crinkled old paper on the table.
“Where did you find it?” Ana asked, knelt excitedly beside him.
“In the attic,” Toby replied. “It looks like a treasure map!”
“Real treasure?” Ana’s eyes sparkled.
“Yeah,” Toby said, pointing at a drawing of a dragon. “It says the treasure is hidden in Dragon’s Peak!”
“We have to go!” Ana exclaimed, jumping to her feet.
Toby and Ana lived in a small village near a range of tall, mysterious mountains.
Local legends often spoke about an old dragon who guarded a hidden treasure up in those mountains.
“But are you sure it’s safe?” Ana asked, glancing at the imposing peaks.
“We’ll be fine,” Toby assured, “We’ll take Max with us.”
Max, their golden retriever, wagged his tail excitedly.
“Let’s pack some snacks and water,” Ana suggested.
“Good idea,” Toby agreed, grabbing his backpack.

The next morning, Toby, Ana, and Max set off towards Dragon’s Peak.
“Do you think we’ll meet the dragon?” Ana asked, as they climbed the rocky path.
“I hope not,” Toby admitted, “But we need to be brave.”
After a few hours, they reached a dense forest at the base of the mountain.
“The map says we need to find the Silver Creek,” Toby said.
“Max, can you sniff it out?” Ana asked. Max barked and led the way.
“He’s on to something!” Toby said, following Max.
Soon, they heard the sound of running water.
“Silver Creek!” Ana exclaimed. They found a small silver stream, just like on the map.

The map showed a hidden cave near the creek.
“There it is!” Toby pointed to a cave behind some thick vines.
They carefully pushed through and entered the dark cave.
“Wow, look at those glowing stones!” Ana marveled at the luminescent rocks on the walls.
“According to the map, the treasure is at the end of this tunnel,” Toby said.
They walked deeper into the cave, their footsteps echoing.
“What’s that noise?” Ana asked, her heart racing.
“Growl.”
“It’s the dragon!” Toby whispered, pulling Ana behind a rock.
“Who dares to enter my cave?” a deep voice boomed.
“We… we found your map,” Ana stuttered, stepping forward. Max barked beside her.
“Ah, brave children,” the dragon said, his scales shimmering. “Why do you seek my treasure?”

“We wanted to find it,” Toby said, stepping forward. “But we didn’t mean any harm.”
The dragon’s eyes softened, and he smiled. “You have shown bravery and kindness. The treasure is hidden just behind that rock.”
Toby and Ana pushed the rock, revealing a chest filled with gold coins and sparkling jewels.
“Thank you,” Ana said, her eyes wide with wonder.
“Use it wisely,” the dragon advised.
“We will,” Toby promised.
Max barked in agreement as the dragon nodded and vanished into the shadows.
Taking the treasure, the children started their journey back home.
“This will help so many people in the village,” Ana said.
“We’ve had the adventure of a lifetime,” Toby agreed.
“And we made a new friend,” Ana added, looking back at the cave with a smile.
The end.
