Buffalo woke up to a very windy day.
“Wow, it’s windy out!” Buffalo said.
He flung open the door.
The wind blew it shut right away.
Buffalo’s hat flew off his head.
“Oh no, come back!” he yelled.
Buffalo chased his hat through the yard.
“Wait for me!” he called out.
Buffalo loved to play outside every day.
But today was very, very windy.
“Why is it so windy, Mama?” he asked.
“It’s a blustery day,” Mama Buffalo said.
“Windy days move things around,” she added.
Buffalo nodded, looking worried.

Buffalo decided to find his favorite hat.
“Let’s go get my hat!” he said.
Buffalo and Mama Buffalo went outside.
The wind was blowing very hard.
“Hold on to my hand,” said Mama Buffalo.
Buffalo held on tight, feeling safe.

They found Buffalo’s hat in a tree!
“There it is!” said Buffalo excitedly.
Mama Buffalo reached up high.
The wind pushed her hand away.
“Will we ever get it?” asked Buffalo.
“Yes, let’s try together,” encouraged Mama Buffalo.
They reached up together, holding hands tightly.
Finally, they grabbed the hat!
“Yay, we did it!” cheered Buffalo.

Buffalo put his hat back on.
“Thank you, Mama,” he said, hugging her.
“You’re welcome, sweetie,” said Mama Buffalo.
“Remember, blustery days can be fun, too.”
Buffalo smiled and looked at the trees.
They were dancing in the wind.
“Let’s dance like the trees!” he said.
They danced and laughed together.
The wind didn’t seem so bad after all.
“The wind can’t stop our fun!” Bufffalo said.
“That’s right,” agreed Mama Buffalo.
They went back inside, happy and tired.
Buffalo was glad he faced the windy day.
The end.
