Max and Lily ran through the forest.
“Look! What’s that?” Max pointed.
“It looks like a treehouse!” Lily exclaimed, eyes wide.
They rushed to the big, old tree.
“Let’s climb up!” Max said with excitement.
“Be careful, Max,” Lily warned.
Their hearts raced as they climbed.
Max and Lily loved playing in the forest.
They often imagined great adventures.
“This forest is like a jungle,” Max said one day.
“And we are explorers!” Lily added with a giggle.
Their friends lived nearby too.
But this treehouse was a secret.

Inside the treehouse, there was a dusty floor.
“Wow, someone built this long ago,” Max whispered.
“Do you think we can play here?” Lily asked.
“Of course! It’s our secret base!” Max decided.
They found a little window to look out.
“Look, we can see the whole forest,” Lily said.
“My mom always says, ‘Be home for dinner,’” Max laughed.

Then, they heard a noise below.
“Did you hear that, Max?” Lily asked nervously.
“It’s just a squirrel,” Max said bravely.
But they were brave explorers.
They peeked out the window, holding hands tightly.
“Hello, little squirrel!” Lily waved.
The squirrel just waved its fluffy tail.
“See? It’s friendly,” Max grinned.

The sun began to set.
“We should go home,” Lily said softly.
“But we’ll come back tomorrow!” Max promised.
“Yes, and we’ll bring our friends,” Lily added.
They climbed down carefully.
“Goodbye, treehouse,” they said together.
And off they went, hand in hand.
The end.
