Hugo loved his big, red hat.
“Look, I can spin!” Hugo said, twirling around.
One sunny day, Hugo wore his hat at the park.
Suddenly, a big gust of wind came.
“Whoa, my hat!” Hugo shouted, pointing up.
The red hat flew high in the sky.
You see, Hugo loved the wind too.
“It’s like a giant fan!” he would say, feeling the breeze.
Hugo knew the wind made leaves dance.
But he didn’t know it would take his hat!

Hugo ran after the hat.
“Wait for me!” he called, reaching up.
His friend Mia saw him running.
“Hugo, what are you doing?” Mia asked.
“My hat is flying away!” Hugo replied.
“I’ll help you!” Mia said, smiling.
They chased the hat past the swings.
It floated over the seesaw.
“Look, it’s going that way!” Mia pointed.
“Why does the wind blow, Mia?” Hugo asked.
“The wind likes to play,” Mia said, giggling.

Finally, the hat landed in a tree.
“It’s stuck!” Hugo said, looking up sadly.
“Don’t worry, I’ve got an idea!” Mia said with a wink.
She found a long stick nearby.
“Here, you can reach it,” Mia handed Hugo the stick.
Hugo carefully poked the stick up high.
Down fell the hat, right into his hands!

“You did it, Hugo!” Mia cheered, clapping her hands.
“Thanks, Mia,” Hugo smiled, putting on his hat again.
The wind blew softly as they walked back.
“I still like the wind,” Hugo said, nodding.
“But I’ll hold my hat tight next time!”
“Good idea,” Mia laughed, holding her own hat close.
“What will the wind take next time?” Hugo wondered.
Who knows, maybe it’s just playing games!
The end.
