One sunny day, Benny the Beaver woke up early.
“Today, I’ll build the best dam ever!” he said.
Benny gathered his tools and trotted to the stream.
On his way, he met his friend, Sally the Squirrel.
“What are you up to, Benny?” asked Sally.
“I’m going to build a dam,” Benny replied.
Can you guess how Benny builds it?
“With sticks and mud, of course!” said Benny proudly.
Benny loved building more than anything else.
His grandpa taught him long ago.
Grandpa said, “A good dam keeps water and makes ponds.”
Benny liked to remember his grandpa’s words.
The animals needed the dam for their water.
Frogs, birds, and fish all depended on it.
“So, it must be strong,” thought Benny.
He put on his thinking cap.
DevelopDevelopmentment
Benny started gathering sticks by the water.
He stacked them carefully, making a tall wall.
Sally watched and said, “Let me help you.”
“Great!” said Benny. “Find strong sticks, Sally.”
Soon, their friend Freddy the Frog hopped over.
“What are you two doing?” croaked Freddy.
“We’re building a dam,” Benny told him.
Freddy said, “I know the best mud spots!”
Guided by Freddy, they collected thick mud.
“Squish it in all the gaps,” Benny said.
“Isn’t this fun?” asked Sally, giggling with joy.

But suddenly, the water started flowing too fast!
“Oh no! My dam isn’t stopping the water,” Benny cried.
“Quick, more sticks!” Sally shouted.
“More mud!” yelled Freddy.
They worked together, faster and faster.
Benny stacked more sticks while Sally packed mud.
“Will it hold?” wondered Benny, feeling worried.
With one big push, they reinforced the dam.
The water stopped rushing, and a small pond formed.
“We did it!” they all cheered in delight.

The pond was perfect for all the animals.
“Benny, you made a great dam!” praised Sally.
“Thank you, but we did it together,” Benny smiled.
Freddy nodded. “Teamwork makes everything better.”
They looked at the pond with pride.
“Let’s bring everyone here tomorrow!” Sally suggested.
Benny chuckled, “Yes, it will be a fun day.”
The friends celebrated their hard work and played.
“Building is fun, but friendship is the best,” Benny said.
Benny knew his grandpa would be proud.
The end.
