Pepper was very excited today.
“Let’s go to the pet shelter,” said Mama.
“Yes, please,” cheered Pepper.
Pepper loved animals a lot.
The car was zooming fast.
“Will I pick a cat or dog?” she asked.
“We will see,” Mama smiled.
Pepper couldn’t wait to find out.
At the pet shelter, Pepper saw many wagging tails.
There were cats with soft whiskers.
Dogs had big, happy eyes.
“Oh, look, Mama! It’s a rabbit!” Pepper exclaimed.
The rabbit was twitching its nose.
“Do you want to meet it?” Mama asked.
“Yes! Yes!” Pepper said.
The fluffy rabbit hopped over.

Pepper sat down gently.
“Hello, little one,” she whispered.
The rabbit twitched its ears.
“Does it have a name?” Pepper asked.
“No name yet,” said Mama.
“We can name it,” Pepper beamed.
Shelly the helper said, “This rabbit needs love.”
“Can I take care of it?” asked Pepper, eyes wide.
Shelly nodded, “Rabbits need gentle care.”

“Can we bring it home?” Pepper asked Mama.
“We need to be sure,” Mama replied.
“Will you feed and play with it?” Shelly asked.
“Yes, I’ll do it!” Pepper promised.
“And clean its space?” Shelly added.
“Yes, I will do it all,” Pepper said.
Mama smiled, “Then it can be your pet.”
Pepper hugged the rabbit carefully.

“What will you name it?” Mama asked.
“Whiskers,” Pepper decided happily.
“Hello, Whiskers,” she said softly.
The rabbit wiggled with joy.
“Whiskers and I will be best friends,” Pepper smiled.
Mama hugged Pepper, “You two are perfect together.”
Pepper waved goodbye to Shelly, “Thank you!”
“Take care, Pepper,” Shelly waved.
Pepper couldn’t wait to get Whiskers home.
The end.
