“Look at all the kites!” shouted Lily.
Tommy nodded. “I can’t wait to fly ours!”
They stood in the park, feeling excited.
All around them, children laughed and played.
Bright kites danced in the blue sky.
Lily held a big, red kite.
Tommy held the string tightly, smiling wide.
“We will fly it super high!” said Lily.
Every year, the town had a festival.
The Kite Flying Festival was always fun.
Children came with their colorful kites.
Each kite was special and unique.
Some kites were shaped like birds.
Others were shaped like dragons or stars.
Lily and Tommy loved their red kite.
It had yellow stripes and a tail.

“Hold the string tight,” said Lily.
Tommy ran, and the kite lifted up.
Up, up, up it soared, high in the sky.
“Look, look! It’s flying!” cheered Tommy.
“Let’s make it go higher!” said Lily.
The wind was strong and friendly.
It helped their kite fly even higher.
But then, the wind slowed down.
“Oh no!” said Tommy. “The wind stopped.”

“We need more wind!” cried Lily.
“What do we do?” Tommy asked.
Lily thought and then had an idea.
“Let’s run together to make wind!”
They both ran as fast as they could.
Their feet tapped on the grass, pat, pat.
The kite caught the breeze and soared.
“It’s working!” yelled Tommy with joy.

Lily laughed. “Teamwork makes the kite fly high!”
Tommy grinned. “Yes, we did it together!”
Their red kite danced happily in the sky.
They ran and played until it was dusk.
Finally, it was time to go home.
“We’ll come back next year,” said Lily.
“Yes, and bring the best kite again,” agreed Tommy.
They waved goodbye to the kites and sky.
The end.
