“Do you think this potion really works, Mia?” Tommy asked as he peeked inside the old bottle.
“I hope so!” Mia replied, her eyes wide with excitement. “The book says it gives us special powers!”
Tommy and Mia were best friends who loved doing experiments in Mia’s backyard.
They had found an ancient-looking book in Mia’s attic, which spoke of magical potions.
The dusty book said that a potion in a small green bottle would give powers to anyone who drank it.
With summer break ahead, they decided that today was the day to try it out.

Mia carefully poured a few drops for both of them into small glasses.
“Ready?” Mia asked, her hand steady even though she was a bit nervous.
“Ready!” replied Tommy with a big smile.
They both took a sip and waited.
“Do you feel anything?” Tommy questioned, looking around.
“Not yet,” Mia said, with a sigh.
Then suddenly, Mia’s eyes widened. “Look, Tommy! I can see what’s happening at the park!”
“Wow!” shouted Tommy in awe. “I can hear what Mr. Johnson is playing on his piano all the way down the street!”
The kids were thrilled. They had already gained super sight and super hearing.

They quickly realized something else too.
“I think we can talk to animals!” Mia exclaimed, as a squirrel chattered to her from a tree.
“This is so cool!” Tommy grinned, patting his excited dog, Rufus.
With their new powers, they decided to visit the park to see who needed help.
At the park, they saw a little boy who had lost his kite.
“Let’s help him,” Mia suggested.
Using her super sight, Mia spotted the kite stuck high in a tree.
“Up there, Tommy!” she pointed.
Tommy nodded and focused his super hearing to sense the breeze.
“Ready, Rufus?” Tommy asked, and Rufus barked in agreement.
With teamwork and their powers, they carefully got the kite down.
The little boy was overjoyed, “Thank you!”

After a day full of adventures, Tommy and Mia sat on Mia’s porch talking about their incredible day.
“I think we should use our powers only when it’s really needed,” Mia said wisely.
Tommy nodded, “Yes, like when someone needs help.”
They agreed to keep their discovery secret but vowed to use their powers for good.
Mia’s mom called from inside, “Dinner time, kids!”
As they went inside, they both wondered what new adventures tomorrow might bring.
“Maybe we’ll get invisibility next time,” Tommy said, laughing.
“We’ll see,” Mia giggled. “As long as we keep doing the right thing.”
The end.
