Zara the Zebra drove her shiny zamboni on the ice rink.
“Wow, Zara, can I try it?” asked her friend Timmy Turtle.
“Sure, Timmy! Come onboard,” Zara said, smiling wide.
Zara loved her job. She cleaned the ice every day.
She made the ice smooth for skating and hockey games.
Timmy was curious. “How does it work, Zara?”
Zara laughed. “Let me show you.”

Zara explained, “The zamboni lays down water. It freezes to smooth the ice.”
Timmy watched closely. “Like magic!” he said, eyes big.
As Zara drove, she sang, “Smooth and shiny, sparkly bright, making ice all right!”
Timmy joined in, “Smooth and shiny, sparkly bright, making ice all right!”

The zamboni hit a bumpy patch. Zara held on tight.
“Oh no! What do we do now?” Timmy asked, worried.
“Don’t worry, Timmy,” Zara said, turning the wheel.
She made three big circles. The bumps vanished!
“Hooray!” Timmy cheered. “You fixed it!”

“We did it together,” Zara smiled.
Timmy hugged Zara. “Thanks for the ride. It was fun!”
They both shouted, “Smooth and shiny, sparkly bright, making ice all right!”
The ice was perfect for skating. Everyone cheered for Zara.
