Wendy put on her hat and coat.
“Mom, can I go for a walk?” she asked.
“Sure, but it looks windy outside,” said Mom.
Wendy opened the door and felt the wind.
Wendy loved to explore the outdoors.
She liked the sunshine, rain, and even the snow.
But today, the wind was very strong.
It blew leaves and made the trees dance.

Wendy walked to the park.
Her hat flew off her head.
“Oh no, come back, hat!” she yelled.
She chased her hat down the path.
As she caught her hat, a squirrel ran by.
“Hi, Squirrel!” Wendy waved.
“Hello, Wendy! It is windy today,” said Squirrel.
“Yes, it is!” Wendy giggled.
She tied her hat tighter this time.

Suddenly, a big gust of wind came.
It blew Wendy’s hat again!
This time, it landed on a bush.
She ran to the bush but tripped.
“Ouch! I need help,” Wendy said.
Her friend, Bunny, hopped over.
“I will help you, Wendy,” Bunny said.
“Thank you, Bunny,” Wendy smiled.
Bunny hopped onto the bush and got the hat.
“Here you go, Wendy,” said Bunny.
“You are so kind, Bunny,” Wendy said.

Wendy and Bunny walked back home.
The wind began to calm down.
“That was an adventure,” said Wendy.
“Yes, it was,” Bunny laughed.
When Wendy got home, Mom asked, “How was your walk?”
“It was windy and fun!” said Wendy.
“Next time, we will watch the weather,” Mom smiled.
“Good idea, Mom,” Wendy nodded.
The end.
