Lily was playing in the sand when she saw something shiny in the water.
“What’s that?” she wondered, running to the shore.
Her friend, Max, followed close behind.
Together, they looked into the sparkling waves.
“Is it a fish?” Max asked.
“No, it’s something different,” Lily replied.
Just then, a silver tail splashed out of the water!
** **
Lily and Max loved to visit the beach after school.
They always found something new and exciting.
Today, they were in for a big surprise.
The silver tail belonged to a mermaid named Marina.
She had silvery scales that shimmered in the sun.
Marina swam closer to the shore and waved.
“Hello, children!” Marina called out.
**

Max gasped. “A real mermaid!”
Marina laughed. “Yes, I am. My name is Marina.”
Lily clapped her hands. “Can we be friends?”
“Of course!” Marina said. “Would you like to go on an adventure?”
“What kind of adventure?” Max asked curiously.
“A magical one, under the sea!” Marina replied.
Lily and Max nodded excitedly. “Let’s go!”
**

Marina waved her tail, and a bubble appeared around Lily and Max.
“This will help you breathe underwater,” she explained.
They dove under the waves, exploring the colorful coral.
Fish of all shapes and sizes swam around them.
“Look at that big, orange fish!” Lily exclaimed.
Marina smiled. “That’s a clownfish. They live near sea anemones.”
Max pointed. “What’s that dark cave?”
“That’s where the pirate treasure is hidden,” Marina said.
“Let’s find it!” Lily and Max said together.
They swam to the cave, where they found a chest full of gold coins.
“Wow, we’re rich!” Max shouted.
“But the real treasure is our friendship,” Marina said, smiling.

After their adventure, Marina brought them back to the shore.
“Will we see you again?” Lily asked hopefully.
“Yes,” Marina promised. “Whenever you need me, just look for my silver tail.”
Max and Lily waved goodbye as Marina disappeared into the waves.
They couldn’t wait to tell their friends about their amazing day.
“Bye, Marina!” they shouted.
The end.
