Squirrel scampered through the forest, looking for seeds.
He wanted to have plenty of food for winter.
“Come on, Squirrel!” called Bunny.
“Let’s go play by the stream!”
“No, Bunny,” said Squirrel.
“I must collect seeds for winter.”
Last year, Squirrel did not gather enough food.
He was very hungry during the cold months.
“Why do we need seeds in winter?” asked Bunny.
“It is because food is hard to find,” Squirrel explained.
Gathering seeds now would keep him full later.
He wanted to be ready for the snow.

Squirrel found a big, shiny seed on the ground.
“Look, Bunny! A perfect seed for my stash!” he said.
“Can I help?” asked Bunny.
“Yes, please! We need lots of seeds,” Squirrel replied.
They found seeds near trees and bushes.
“Here is a seed! And here is another!” Bunny shouted.
They worked together, gathering many seeds.

But then, Squirrel realized he had lost his special bag.
“Oh no! Where is my seed bag?” Squirrel cried.
“It must be around here somewhere,” Bunny said.
They searched and searched but could not find it.
“I cannot carry the seeds without my bag,” Squirrel worried.
Just then, Owl flew down from a tree.
“Is this your bag, Squirrel?” Owl asked.
“Yes, Owl! Thank you so much!” Squirrel exclaimed.

With his bag found, Squirrel and Bunny filled it up.
They gathered all the seeds they could carry together.
“Now we are ready for winter!” Squirrel said happily.
“Let’s go play by the stream!” Bunny cheered.
They ran and laughed, happy and free.
Squirrel felt proud he had planned for winter.
And Bunny was glad to help his friend.
The end.
