The little lizard loved the sun.

The desert had sand, rocks, and cacti.
“I love my home,” said the lizard.

The lizard saw a butterfly.
“Hello, butterfly!” he called out.
“Hi, lizard!” said the butterfly.
“Do you want to play?”
“Yes, I do!” said the lizard.
They ran around and laughed.
Next, they saw a beetle.
“Hello, beetle!” they said together.
“Hi, friends!” said the beetle.
“Can I join you?”
“Of course!” said the lizard.
They all played and ran.
The lizard was so happy.

Then, they saw a snake.
“Whoa!” said the lizard.
“Hello, snake!” said the butterfly.
“Hi!” said the snake.
“Can I play too?”
“Hmmm…” said the lizard.
He was a little scared.
But the snake looked kind.
“Yes, you can,” the lizard said.
They all played and laughed.
The lizard made a new friend.

As the sun went down, they rested.
“Today was so fun,” said the lizard.
“Yes, it was,” said the butterfly.
“I agree,” said the beetle.
“Me too,” said the snake.
The friends sat and smiled.
“We’ll play again tomorrow,” the lizard said.
And they all went to sleep.
