“Look at this, guys!” Max exclaimed, pointing at the dark opening between two large boulders.
“This is amazing!” Lily added, her eyes wide with excitement.
“I wonder what’s inside,” Oliver said, peeking into the darkness.
As they peered into the cave, their enthusiasm quickly faded.
They heard a deep, rumbling growl echoing from inside.

They moved closer to the cave entrance, staying hidden behind some rocks.
A group of treasure hunters armed with nets and tranquilizer darts stood at the mouth of the cave.
“We’ll capture the dragon and take all the treasure,” one of them said greedily.
Lily, Max, and Oliver exchanged worried looks.
“We can’t let them do that,” Max whispered fiercely.
“We need a plan,” Lily said, her mind racing.
“I’ve got an idea,” Oliver said with a determined look on his face.
With no time to lose, the trio concocted a plan to protect the dragon.
They set traps and used their combined skills to outwit the hunters.
“Let’s show them what we’re made of,” Max said, his voice filled with determination.

As the treasure hunters moved deeper into the cave, Lily, Max, and Oliver sprang into action.

The hunters, oblivious to the hidden traps, approached the dragon.

The noise finally woke the dragon. Its eyes flickered open and it roared, but not with anger. It seemed almost grateful.
Lily stepped forward bravely. “We saved you,” she said softly.
The dragon stared intently, then slowly nodded its massive head.
Max approached cautiously. “We didn’t want them to steal your treasure.”
Oliver added, “Or hurt you.”
The dragon opened its enormous claw and revealed three shimmering gems, each one a different color. They sparkled like nothing the kids had ever seen.
“For us?” Lily asked, eyes wide with wonder.
The dragon nodded again, and the friends each took a gem. They felt warm and comforting in their hands.
As they left the cave, the dragon gave them one final, grateful look.
Oliver grinned. “Wait until everyone hears about this adventure!”
Max laughed. “No one’s going to believe us.”
Lily held her gem tight. “Maybe not. But we know the truth.”
They emerged from the forest, the afternoon sun casting long shadows.
