Max the dinosaur woke up excited.
“Hello, sunshine!” Max said, jumping out of bed.
“Today is my birthday!” he shouted.
Max couldn’t wait to have his friends over.
Max lived in a sunny forest.
He loved playing games with his friends.
There was Sally the stegosaurus and Tiny the triceratops.
Max wanted to have the best birthday ever.
Max started getting ready for the party.
He hung up shiny balloons and streamers.
Sally arrived first. “Happy birthday, Max!” she said.
“Thank you, Sally!” Max said with a big smile.
Tiny the triceratops came next.
“Look! I brought a gift,” Tiny said.
“Yay! Thank you, Tiny!” Max clapped his hands.
The friends played many fun games.
“Let’s play tag!” Max shouted.
They ran and laughed, having a great time.
Max looked at the sky. It was getting dark.
“Time for cake!” he said excitedly.
Everyone sat around the big chocolate cake.
“How old are you, Max?” Tiny asked.
“I am five today!” Max said proudly.
Sally said, “Wow, you are growing so big!”
Max felt very happy and special.
After cake, it was time to go home.
“Thank you for coming,” Max said to his friends.
“We had so much fun,” Sally said.
“Yes,” Tiny agreed. “Happy birthday, Max!”
Max waved goodbye to his friends.
He went to bed feeling very loved.
